Q: What if scrapbooking is not my hobby?

A: Creative Cottage is designed and furnished with scrapbooking in mind, but we welcome all crafters or those looking to just get away for a fun and relaxing weekend. So whether your hobby is quilting, stamping, knitting or simply just reading a book, Creative Cottage would love to have you!

Q: Is Creative Cottage open to others?

A: Yes, Creative Cottage may be booked for church and corporate retreats, weddings, showers, birthday parties, family functions and whatever else you can dream up as well.

Q: When is Check-In/Out?

A: Check-in time is 12:00 pm on the day of your scheduled retreat and check-out is 6:00 pm on the scheduled day of departure.

Q: What are the minimum/maximum guests at a retreat?

A: The maximum number of guests is 12 although we do have the ability to accommodate a 13th person if requested. We can accommodate 2 smaller parties with up to 6 people per party. For example, one large group would pay the full rental cost or two small groups would split the rental cost. The rental fee stays the same regardless of the number of guests, so if a smaller party is booked (i.e. <12 or <6) then the cost per individual will increase or request Creative Cottage to assist you to fill in the remaining spots. However, there is no guarantee that we will be able to fill them for that weekend. Please refer to our cancellation policy.

Q: What if we want to extend our stay and make it a 3 or 4-day retreat?

A: You are welcome to stay an extra day. An extra night is only $29.32/person for 9-12 people or $43.30/person for a minimum of 4 to 8 people. Catering can be added for groups of 12. Advance registration for an extended stay is greatly appreciated but we will do our best to accommodate last minute requests.

Q: Do you have to be part of a large group to stay at Creative Cottage, or can a group of say 1-3 rent the facility?

A: Periodically, we will hold a "last minute special" for weekends that haven't booked. These "specials" will be posted on our website and we will work to accommodate a smaller group of people. Catering is only available for a group of 12. Another option is to be put on a "small group" wait-list and whenever we have one, two or three spots available within a larger group we will contact you via email and see if you would be available and interested in filling in for that weekend. The third option is to stay a weeknight. The cost for a weeknight rental is $325.00/night plus tax. That number is then divided by the number of people in your group, so depending upon the number of people in your group, it can certainly be less costly. Please contact us regarding catering if there is 12 in your group.

Q: What are the sleeping arrangements?

A: Creative Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Each guest room is furnished with twin size beds fitted with 400 count Egyptian Cotton linens, hypoallergenic pillows and plush bath towels. The "Robin's Nest" room has 7 twin beds and large full bathroom. The "Squeeze of Lime" room has 3 twin beds and full bathroom. The "Pretty in Pink" room has 2 twin beds one with a trundle that can be "popped-up" to accommodate a third person if necessary. The full bathroom is located a few short steps across the hallway. There is ample closet space in each bedroom for you to store your luggage. Extra pillows, blankets and towels are kept in each closet as well. For the friends of guests who snore or talk in their sleep, we provide ear plugs!

Q: Do we have to share bathrooms?

A: The Robin's Nest bedroom and Squeeze of Lime bedroom each have their own bathroom. A third bathroom is located a few short steps across the hall from the "Pretty in Pink" room.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: All you need to bring is yourself and your personal scrapbook/crafting gear! We also suggest warm slippers, comfy sweats and cozy pyjamas. Creative Cottage is all about crafting, relaxing and being pampered-no need for makeup and getting dressed up! Complimentary snacks and drinks are provided but you are welcome to bring anything else that would make you feel even more comfortable. Creative Cottage also provides shampoo, conditioner and soap. In addition, we keep a first-aid kit on hand along with some "emergency" items such as ear plugs, antacids, pain medication, and feminine sanitary supplies. For those who crawl into bed in the wee hours of the morning, we suggest bringing an eye mask to help you sleep a few hours longer during the daylight.

Q: Do you have a computer with Internet and Wireless Service?

A: Yes, we have high speed internet on our computer in the craft room and wireless service coming soon for those who love to digital scrapbook! Our computer is also equipped with fantastic Scrapbooking software complete with a large variety of fonts etc.

Q: Is there a TV/DVD player?

A: Yes, there is a TV/DVD player in the craft room and another TV/DVD player in the living room. We have a small selection of "chick flicks" to choose from and you are welcome to bring your own as well.

Q: Do you have Cable TV?

A: Yes, we have basic cable so most of your favorite shows will be on!

Q: Can we listen to music?

A: Yes, the DVD player in the craft room is able to play CD music which is played through the TV speakers. You are welcome to bring any of your personal CD collection.

Q: What equipment is available?

A: We are constantly adding new tools and products to the craft room. Please refer to our website under "craft room" for the most up-to-date list. If you have any suggestions or would like to see something added to our inventory please let us know, our goal is to "wow" you!

Q: Do we have to order Catering?

A: No, a fully furnished kitchen is part of Creative Cottage. You are welcome to bring your own food and cook meals at your pleasure. We do highly recommend our chef though!

Q: What if I have food allergies?

A: Please let us know if you have any food allergies, our chef will be happy to speak with you directly to ensure to have alternatives for you! If you are on a diet, we suggest you leave that behind temptation will overcome you! Should you have any additional requests we will do whatever we can to work with you.

Q: Do you teach any classes?

A: Classes are taught on Tuesday and Thursday nights unless there is a scheduled retreat. The classes are posted on our website. We are constantly adding new techniques to learn along with fun and creative "make and take" projects that make for wonderful gifts for yourself or others. Reservations along with payment in full is required, so please refer to our website for further details. In addition to weeknight classes, you may request any of our classes be held during your retreat stay. A minimum number of 6 guests are required for one of our fabulous instructors to come and teach your group. Typically the class will be 1-2 hours in length and will act as a nice "break" during your retreat. Advance registration is required.
